Matcha Bowl - Matchawan Haru

Matchawan Haru was handcrafted on a grey clay potter's wheel with a delicate addition of chamotte and glazed glaze made according to centuries-old Japanese tradition. It was created in a limited series of KOOE for MOYA made by the Krakow-based ceramics studio KOOE, whose products are characterized not only by beautiful forms, but also by exceptional durability due to firing at high temperatures. Each matchawan in this series is a unique handicraft, so its appearance and size may differ slightly from the one in the photo. .

Matchawan is a traditional tool used in the Japanese tea ceremony. It is also by far the most convenient vessel for drinking matcha, which is best shaken with a bamboo broom (the so-called chasen). The vertical walls of the cup and the wide bottom allow you to easily and conveniently "shake" the matcha in the water and quickly get a layer of surface foam. It should be remembered that the temperature of the water in which matcha is prepared should not exceed 80 °C.
